The data above shows the percentage of each countries religious population, birth rate, infant mortality rate, and the literacy rate. Analyzing these pieces together, there shows a correlation between the literacy rate and the birth rate. The higher the birth rate, the lower the literacy rate. Andorra has a birth rate of 9.66 per 1000 population. Their literacy population of people over 15 years old is 100%. Comparing that to Cape Verde, there is a birth rate of 21.47 per 1000 population. Their literacy population of people over 15 years old is 76.6%. Both of these countries have a similar proportion of catholic persons. Comparing these two countries to Afghanistan, which has a near zero percent catholic population, their birth rate is 37.83% per 1000 population. But their literacy population of people over 15 years old is 28.1%. There is no evidence to show that the higher the catholic population, the lower the birth rate. We can see this in the non-catholic countries. My conclusion stands; the higher the birth rate, the lower the population of literates.
